Shingle starter and rake strip is a proprietary, self-adhesive composite. Shingle starter and rake strip is composed of a self-adhesive back to seal to the roof deck or underlayment. A tough granular surface will form a barrier to physical damage while providing superior UV ray protection and a seal down strip to prevent shingle uplift. Shingle starter and rake strip is composed of the same unique materials found in other DeWitt membranes that allow the material to seal around nail penetrations and provide waterproofing capabilities. Shingle starter and rake strip is provided in single rolls that are 7.2 in wide by 33.4 in long. Shingle starter and rake strip is self-adhesive and cold applied. No special adhesives or equipment are necessary to install shingle starter and rake strip.
